The Defence minister visits Army units in Burgos

On 19 April, the Army units located in Burgos received a visit from the Defence minister, María Dolores de Cospedal, who was accompanied by the Chief of the Army, General Francisco Javier Varela Salas.

The “Diego Porcelos” barracks, where the headquarters of the “San Marcial” Division is situated, was the first stop on the itinerary and where ordenance honours were received and training was reviewed.

Following that, she visited the Tactic Operations Centre in order to attend a presentation about the capabilities of the Division delivered by the Chief of the Division, General Romero, and she took a walk around the Semi-perminant Command Post.

Later, the Defence minister moved to the “Cid Campeador” base, where she was received by the Chief of the base, colonel López de Baro, and she looked around a permanent units and resources exhibition in order to get an understanding of the capabilities of the 11th Campaign Artillery Regiment, part of the 1st Enginners Regiment and the 1st Transmissions Regiment, where she concluded her visit.
