A soldier from the 47th 'Palma' is congratulated by the Civil Guard because of his collaboration in a fire

Soldier Camacho, stationed in the 3rd company of the 47th Infantry Regiment "Palma" has been officially congratulated by the Civil Guard because of his collaboration in the evacuation of the victims inside a house during a fire.

The chief of the unit received this week a letter signed by the Civil Guard's chief of Balearic Islands in which he highlights the brave action of the soldier attending the people inside the house and in extinguishing the fire which had been broken out there.

This event took place the 9th of January when the soldier was coming back home after a day driving on the old road of Bunyola, in Marratxí. When he was coming past in front of the house next to the road, he realized that there was a fire there; he stopped his vehicle and he attended the people who were there asking for help.

Afterwards, a Civil Guard patrol appeared, and soldier Camacho got ready at their disposal in order to collaborate with the evacuation of the ocupants, including seven puppies too, and in extinguishing the fire.

Once the emergency servicies arrived, with the situation under control and without regreting more mataterial damages, the soldier came back to the road after demostrating initiative, serenity and bravery, like it is highlighted in the letter to the Regiment.
