Organized by the Canary Islands History and Culture Center in cooperation with the Cultural Association TuSantaCruz, this exhibit called 'Islanders in Louisiana'  takes place at the Military Palace (San Telmo) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It belongs to the series "Spanish Contribution to the US  Independence: the people of the Canary Islands in Louisiana.''

The exhibition is free and open to the public. It will be open until July 24th from 12 PM to 2 PM and from 5 PM to 8 PM.

The exhibit shows how the descendants of the Canary Islanders in Louisiana, the so called ''Islanders'', celebrate their canary roots  traditions consisting of a sort of syncretism with other established communities in the área. The exhibit has explanatory boards and collections of the History Military Museum related to that place and time.
