Troops from Bétera wrap up Trident Juncture

The Battalion of the Rapid Deployment Land Headquarters (BCGTAD in its Spanish acronym) completed its involvement in the exercise Trident Juncture on 16 November, after 76 days of uninterrupted work at the service base “San Jorge” (Zaragoza).

The Logistic Brigade donates 9,000 kg of supplies left over from Trident Juncture to the Food Bank in Zaragoza

Personnel from the 21st and 41st Logistic Support Groups, based in Seville and Zaragoza respectively, handed over more than 9,000 kg of supplies to the Food Bank in Zaragoza on 12 November. They had been left over by the US units taking part in the exercise Trident Juncture.

NATO flexes its muscle at ‘San Gregorio’

The spearhead of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF), which Spain will lead in 2016, organised a show of strength on 4 November at the “San Gregorio” Training Centre, in Zaragoza. The event was attended by prominent representatives of civilian and military institutions, notably NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Spanish Minister of Defence Pedro Morenés, as well as 150 journalists from 30 countries.

The Civil Guard offers protection to 230 convoys during 'Trident Juncture'

The Civil Guard escorted 230 convoys from the ports, airports and border crossings which have been the points of entry into Spain for the foreign contingents taking part in the exercise Trident Juncture 2015. Their destination was either one of the training centres, “San Gregorio” (Zaragoza) or “Chinchilla” (Albacete), or the training field and shooting range “Álvarez de Sotomayor” (Almería).

‘Trident Juncture’, live

Around 4,700 troops, 93 armoured vehicles, 23 tanks and 6 army helicopters are taking part in the real combat phase of exercise Trident Juncture, which is starting today and will continue until 6 November. They have been deployed at the training centres “San Gregorio” and “Chinchilla” and at the base “Álvarez de Sotomayor”.
