“Almogávares” VI Paratrooper Brigade has started its third mission in Lebanon after General Pérez Aguado – chief of the contingent in which this unit contributes to the Force almost entirely. The ceremony of authority transfer took place on May 21st at the “Miguel de Cervantes” de Marjayoun base.

The ceremony was chaired by General Saneep Singh Bajaj - the mission Second-in-chief – who was in charge to take the UN Flag from the hands of General Martín Cabrero and give it to General Pérez de Aguado.

The Paratroopers (they make up the XXV rotation of staff that Spain deploys in Lebanon within the UN operation context) replace the members of the Legion Brigade which has been ensuring the compliance of resolution 1.701.

The Paratrooper Brigade will deploy itself in Lebanon for the third time as Multinational Brigade. Most of the contingent is composed of Paratrooper Brigade personnel “Lusitania” 8 regiment and of the Logistic Support Group 11 among other units.
