SPAGT XXIII

The new Spanish Task Force has been deployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 23rd September.

SPAGT XXIII, under the command of Colonel Grande, is made up of 508 forces. Of these, 317 make up the bulk of the Task Force and are: a Marine Infantry Company, a Helicopter Unit and an Infantry Company formed by 3 platoons with personnel from the 9th Infantry Regiment "Soria" and the 49th Infantry Regiment "Tenerife", both belonging to the Canary Islands Command.

The remaining personnel are from the National Logistics Support Element, NSE XXV.

Their missions are the same as those that have been undertaken to date: maintaining peace, weapons confiscation, facilitating the integration of the population as part of the normalization process and contributing to the creation of a safe and stable environment in order to favour the democratization of the country,...
