Two Spanish Officers participate in an Integration Exercise for the Conference of American Armies

Spanish Army Liasison Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Billón along with Lieutenant Colonel Olalde, participated before the Conference of American Armies (CAA) in quality expert crisis management, in an Integration Exercise for Interagency Operations which the CAA celebrated from the 19th to the 25th of June, in Santiago, Chile.

The exercise was carried out in the Chilean Army´s War Academy Operation-Tactical Training Centre, in the military base "La Reina", with the participation of CAA representatives from various nation members, as well as multiple Chilean governmental and non-governmental organizations. The objective of this exercise was to validate documents developed by the CAA during the last two year work cycle 2016-17.

The Spanish Army have participated as special invites in the CAA since the beginning of 2016. It´s expected that in the next Commander´s Conference - equivalent to the JEME in the Spanish Army - of the CAA, will declare the Land Forces as "special observers" as a permanent role, in reference to specialized links in Spain with that continent, even though they are not a part of the American Army.

In the aforementioned conference, which the Spanish JEME is expected to attend, they will test the conclusions obtained from the labor of this two yearly cycle XXXIII, which the United States Army has exercised the ministry of the CAA, and they will establish the issues to be dealt with in the XXXIII (2018-19) cycle, where the the ministry will be executed by the Army of the Dominican Republic.
