Land Forces' Chiefs of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have met, the 17th and 18th of October, at Capitanía General of Valencia, base of the Rapid Deployable's General Staffs. The last day was attended by the Chief of General Staff of the Spanish Army (JEME in Spanish), General Francisco J. Varela Salas, as leader of the Spanish Army, and the Supreme Allied Commader Europe (SACEUR), General Curtis M. Scaparrotti.

The 11th edition of the conference, organized by the NATO's Land Command - with base in Izmir (Turkey) -, took place in this occasion, with the support of the Rapid Deployable General Staffs of the Nato, with base in Bétera (Valencia), due to the fact that it is celebrated, in a rotating way, in between the bases of the NATO's General Staffs situated in Europe. In this edition, chiefs and distinguised representants from the 10 land headquarters from the NATO's Forces Structure deployed in Europe, have gathered together, as well as other organisms from the Allied Treaty Organization. The meeting was headed by the General Lieuntenant of the North American Army, Darryl A. Williams, Chief of the NATO's Land Command.

The aim of these conferences was to find out a full view about how NATO's Land Forces should adapt to the new strategic concepts of deterrence and defense.
