The 3rd Championship of Army's Sniper Rifle Shooting Teams

The 6th Paratrooper Brigade "Almogávares", took the final victory of the 3rd Championship of Army's Sniper Rifle Shooting Teams, celebrated the 13th and 17th of November, at the Manoeuvre Field "Álvarez de Sotomayor" in Viator (Almería).

In this competition, in which the shooters have to demostrate their abilities, ways of employment, materials and systems of preparation are shared. It was attended by 13 teams of the Spanish Army and, as guests, by one team belonging to the Royal Guard and two to the Navy's Infantry.

The championship consisted on five tasks in which the different abilities of the shooting teams were evaluated in unknown and known distances, targets in movement and long trajectories of combat shooting. In this last task, the 6th Paratrooper Brigade "Almogávares" won the 7th Brigade "Galicia", which from that moment, had been the most regular, been classified in second position. The bronze was awarded to the 11th Brigade "Extremadura".

The organization of the task was taken by the Chief of South Unit of Support to Preparation and during the awarding and closing ceremony the chief of the 2nd Brigade "Rey Alfonso XIII" of the Legion, General Juan J. Martín Cabrero, was also present.
