Captain Galindo, stationed at the 64th Infantry Regiment "Galicia", of Mountain Riflemen, has been the Spanish representative in the course of Winter mountain for allied countries organized by the Norwegian Winter Combat Academy and which has been developed, from the 8th of January to the 2nd of February, in Terningmoen, at 140km northwest from Oslo.

Altogether 48 students from different countries like Canada, Estonia, Germany, Holland, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States participated in the course; they attended to theoretical and practical lessons of technical and tactical character, such as the adaptation to the specific team to cold weather, movility with ski, navigation, prevention and treatment of cold damages, shooting and unification of practices and techniques, tactics and squad procedures.

To conclude, they conducted an exercise of 12 days in which they stayed overnight in patrol tents and in different shelters too, carrying out marches, rescues in avalanches, dropping and rescuing  practices in frozen lakes, hidding prints techniques and a three days tactical exercise.

The taught knowledges are very useful for the leaderships belonging to the mountain units, due to the fact that the participants acquire experience and basic knowledges to combat and to operate in extreme cold environments, applying the specific survival techniques, the movility with ski and the leadership in Winter conditions. Furthermore, the course prepares them to practice as instructors and advisers of the cold weather in their units of origin.
