Valencia's "Capitanía General" building takes the 35th Session of the High Level Management Committee of the United Nations

Valencia's "Capitanía General", the High Readiness Force's Land Staff (CGTAD in Spanish) placed in the old Santo Domingo Convent in Valencia, has taken the 35th Session of the High Level Management Committee of the United Nations (HLCM), the 12th and 13th of April.

Lieutenant General Gan, chief of the CGTAD, welcomed the participants with a speech, in which he summed up the history of Santo Domingo Convent, its importance in the Spanish history and, in the current development of events and meetings of international organizations such as the NATO or the United Nations. Afterwards, Juan Ignacio Morro, the head of the United Nations and Human Rights, representing the Spanish Foreign Minister, spoke about the interest of Spain in the contribution to the performance of the UN's missions and, particularly, in the support to the job carried out by the Information Technologies Centre, located in Valencia.

The meeting, which gathered together the heads of the Agencies, Funds, and System Programmes of the UN from all over the world, was chaired by Jan Beagle, general secretaryship of the Management Department belonging to the General Secretaryship of the United Nations.

The UN's Information Technologies Centre and Communications in Valencia, placed in the old Aerial Base of Manises, conducted the administrative coordination and the logistics of the event.
