2nd Brigade welcomes the chief of the French 6th Brigade

On 14th February, the 6th Light Armoured Brigade of the French Army, General Franck Nicol, visited the premises of the 2nd Brigade 'King Alfonso XII' of the Legion in Viator (Almería.) The aim of the visit was to learn about the tactical and operative capacities of the Brigade, as well as strenghteningthe cooperation links between both units, as a consequence of the special town-twinning between them.

Upon arrival, the General of the French Brigade was welcomed by an honour squad. Together with the Chief of the 2nd Brigade, General Marcos Llago, he moved to the greeting line to get to know the chiefs of the different units of the 'Álvarez de Sotomayor' base.

The French General went round the 'Millán Astray' room to learn about the history and organisation of the Legion and the Brigade. He was also explained the training concept and the Avilability Plan. He was shown the premises for preparation support and the future project of 2035 Experimental Brigade. Next, he was taken to the premises where simulators are located, with the Spike missile or the Victrix gunfire among them. At the Sappers Improvised Devices Roome he could also verify the high level of this unit.

He also visited the Shooting and Manoeuvres Field 'Álvarez de Sotomayor', where the capacities of subterranean and urban combat were shown. The General could also witness a shooting exercise by the 4th and 5th-year cadets of the General Military Academy together with the Artillery Group of the Legion. The French General finished with a visit to the Historical Room and the signing of the of the Unit's Book of Honour.
