Canada decorates two soldiers from the 10th Brigade

Two officers from the 2nd ‘Queen’s’ Infantry Regiment of the 10th ‘Guzmán el Bueno’ Brigade have been decorated by the Canadian Armed Forces for their participation in the Enhanced Forward Presence (expo II) operation in Adazi, Latvia. The ceremony was held on the 26th of June in NATO’s Combined Operations Centre in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid).

Commander Jansa was awarded the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Commendation and Captain Garrido was awarded the Canadian Joint Operation Command (CJOC) Commendation.

General Quinn, commander of the Canadian Armed Forces in Europe and national military representative in the Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Powers in Europe (SHAPE) in Belgium, awarded both men with their distinctions.

The Enhanced Forward Presence unit has been established as four Battle Groups, led by the USA, the UK, Germany and Canada. The Spanish contingent in Latvia is integrated into the Canadian Battle Group.
