Spanish musical culture makes itself heard in Latvia

A series of concerts performed from the 3rd to the 8th of September by a band from the Operational Logistics Force’s Music Unit in Latvia brought Spanish music to the Baltics.

The Spanish soldiers began their series of concerts with an appearance on the Morning News Live television programme on the Latvian national television network. The following day, they starred in three concerts in a public school in Riga and a fourth concert in the Adazi base, where the Spanish contingent which is participating in NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence operation is deployed.

The band and a saxophone quartet gave another recital in a cultural centre for students of local training centres and participated in another concert along with the band from the Latvian National Guard in Smiltene the following two days. On the 8th of September the series finished with a parade and a final performance as part of the Father’s Day celebration.
