The ‘España’ Regiment gets ready for the ‘Toro’ exercise

Tuesday, October 1, 2019

Number: 7621

The 11th ‘Spain’ Calvary Regiment carried out, on the 26th of September, an exercise in which their vehicles boarded a railway as part of their preparation for the ‘Toro’ 2019 exercise.

The exercise, for which the Regiment also had the support of the Railway Company from the II/12 Specialists Battalion, involved establishing columns of vehicles with all weapons and sets on board for a later embarkation of the whole unit on the railway.

The activity was ordered without prior notice, so the Staff from the Regiment and Groups had to provide all the necessary documentation required for the transport in a short time frame. In the same way, the embarkation and later disembarkation of the columns were executed within tight deadlines.

In this way, the Regiment demonstrated that it is prepared to respond to a possible activation in a support operation like that which could be assigned to it within the context of the ‘Toro’ exercise, the Army’s main exercise in 2019.

The ‘Toro’ exercise will be carried out between the 8th and 24th of November in different locations in Spain. The aim of the exercise is to simultaneously train three stages (Division, Brigade and Tactical Group), employing different types of exercise formats (live, command posts and simulated), with the planning and execution requiring a huge effort..

El ejercicio se desarrolló en Zaragoza
