Send-off in Almería for the first rotation of the 32nd ‘Libre Hidalgo’ contingent

On the 12th of November in Almería airport, the 13th ‘King Alfonso’ Brigade, 2nd of the Legion, said goodbye to more than 200 soldiers who will make up the first rotation to be deployed in Lebanon as part of the 32nd ‘Libre Hidalgo’ mission.

The ceremony was presided over by the chief of the Brigade, General Llago who will exercise control over the eastern sector, within the United Nations mission in the south of the country.

The contingents’ deployment will come into effect when the second and third rotations depart for the country, which is planned for the next few days. In total, the contingent will be made up of around 600 soldiers, with most coming from the Headquarters of the 3rd Legion ‘Tercio’ ‘Don Juan de Austria’: Field Artillery Group, Sappers Unit, Logistics Group and Headquarters Unit. Staff from other units, such as the 21st Logistical Support Group will also be added to this considerable group.
