The Army has signed a total of 87 activities in collaboration with Portugal for 2020. This was done during a meeting which took place on the 21st of November in the Buenavista Palace, the base of the Army Headquarters.

The chief of the Planning Division, General de la Esperanza, held a meeting with Colonel Sardinha, as part of the 63rd Meeting of the Iberian Chiefs of Staff, between the 20th and the 22nd of November.

Taking advantage of this annual meeting, an Army work subgroup was held, which established a programme of cooperation for next year, as well as topics of interest for both armies. One of the most important bilateral exercises is ‘Orion’, to which Spain will contribute a tactical subgroup next year. They also highlighted that the partnership between the Portuguese Mechanised Brigade and the 11th ‘Extremadura’ Brigade is functioning well.

The meeting was held in the headquarters of the Army.
