Battalion ‘Albuera’ Reaches the Summit of Mt. Teide

Battalion ‘Albuera’, from 49th Light Infantry Regiment ‘Tenerife’, on 21st June reached the Summit of Mt. Teide, the highest peak in Spain at an altitude of 3,718 metres, after having walked for two days with a change in elevation of over 60%.
 

To aid the march and maintain instruction of the Medical and Supply platoons, the Rear Logistic Core prepared the food on detachment ‘Izaña’ and the Advanced set up, on White Mountain (2,700m), a first aid post and a provisions distribution point. 
 

After arriving at ‘Spain’s ceiling’, the servicepersons recited two articles from 16th Light Infantry Brigade ‘Canarias’ ideology and undertook the  commitment of unity.
