Working as if they were in Lebanon. That was the objective of the Legion Brigade personnel who took part in the “Zenete” exercise, which was led by the Signals Company of the HQ Battalion and took place over the first week of August at Marquesado de Zenete (Granada).

The Legion will be going back to Lebanon at the end of the year after a period during which the mission was exclusively in the hands of the Army’s Heavy Brigades. It is now absorbed in preparations, including this exercise which has brought up to day the participants’ knowledge of the means and procedures used in the UN mission to that Middle Eastern country.

The soldiers who will make up the Signals Unit of the 34th Spanish contingent in Lebanon have trained in military cyber defence and networks, especially in urban areas. As well as this training, specific to their division, the exercise also involved marches and tactical convoy movements.
