From October 17 to 21, around 2,000 legionnaires and almost a hundred light and heavy vehicles took part in the most important exercise of the year of the Spanish Legion´s Brigade (a.k.a. La Legion BRILEG).

For 10 days, the training range turned into a drill in which an assumed conflict scenario was taken place. This helped the units to certify their training and readiness level in the most rigorous demands; the Brigade’s operational capabilities to manage itself in a highly intense widespread combat atmosphere was also tested. Likewise, on the road deployment and retreat capabilities were tested.

All the units within the Spanish Legion´s Brigade (based in Viator, Almería) and within the BRILEG´s units (based in Ronda, Málaga) have taken part in the trainings. There were also fire observers from the Campaign Artillery Command, a Helicopter’s Tactical Group from the Army and Transmission´s Command personnel.

The international nature of the exercise was brought by different units of the UK Army; especially from the 5th Reservist Company, “Royal Regiment of Fusiliers” included in the 7th Battalion “Valenzuela”; plus personnel from the Artillery Group included in the VJTF (HQ in Sennelager, Germany) that took place in the Command and Control exercise with personnel from the BRILEG Artillery Group included within the just mentioned multinational force.
