2017 VJTF members from the ‘Don Juan de Austria’ Legion Regiment (Tercio, in Spanish) train in ‘Chinchilla’

From Jan. 18-26, companies from the 8th ‘Colón’ bn. of the 3rd La Legion Regiment “Don Juan de Austria”, belonging to the Tactical Group “Colón” which is within the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF 17) have carried out an exercise at the training field “Chinchilla” in Albacete, Spain to keep strengthening the expertise started in 2016. 

 
The 6th and 7th companies of the 8th Legion Bn. were supported by a unmanned aircraft and by signals´ teams from the HQ Bn. and also, by the Legion Logistics Group.
The goal of the excercise was the planning (in English) and the leadership of operations to keep strengthening the expertise started in 2016. Security and combat operations were conducted -offensive operations in training fields, logistics bases, sanctuaries, trapping leaders, hostage rescue, etc.- that included offensive, defensive and stabilization tactics actions.

These Live Exercise maneuvers (LIVEX), along with troops and actual material, have been carried out in cold weather that struk the Iberian Peninsula hence, the extreme training conditions with below zero temperatures and plenty of snow.
