Letters of support for soldiers deployed in Iraq

Tuesday, April 18, 2017

Number: 5947

A group of school children in Year 4 and Year 5 from various primary schools in Melilla have shown their support for Spanish soldiers by sending letters and drawings that reflect their vision of the work of soldiers, as well as their concerns and worries.
The letters have boosted the morale of the soldiers and the contingent will try to reply to all of them to show their appreciation.
This campaign, named "You're not alone, here is my drawing," has been organised by the Command Headquarters of Melilla, and aims to teach students about the role of Spanish soldiers deployed in different parts of the world in international missions, specifally focusing on the soldiers from the Melilla units, which make up most of the contingent currently deployed in Iraq.
