II/17 'Valiant Warrior': last exercise of the 2016 Rapid Deployable Joint Force's Brigade

II/17 "Valiant Warrior" has put the finishing touch to the stand-down period's exercises of the unit generated as 2016 Rapid Deployable Joint Force´s Brigade, the 20th and the 21st of September, at the 7th Brigade "Galicia" in Pontevedra.

This is the second exercise carried out along this phase and it was helpful in order to put in common the identified lessons during the three periods of the cycle of the unit availability (stand-up, stand-by and stand-down); and also for the maintenance of the cohesion among the component units of the well-known VJTF (Very High Readiness Joint Task Force).

In the exercise participated the chiefs and the personnel of the Battalions' Staff that form the 16th VJFT Brigade: Protected Infantry Battalion "San Quintín" I/3, Light Armoured Group of Cavalry "Santiago" I/12, 7th Artillery Campaign Group, 7th Engineers Group, Logistical Group, 7th Headquarters Battalion, as well as units' representants of the Armies of Albania, Belgium, Portugal and United Kingdom, and the JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller) of the Campaign's Artillery Command. In the seminar also collaborated a representant of the Rapid Deployable Headquarters in Spain (NRD ESP) and other from the 18th VJTF Brigade generated by Italy.

The different identified lessons exposed made reference to doctrine, organization, instruction, materials, leadership and formation, personnel and instalations in each of the three phases. All of them were collected along the process while an internal seminar took place the previous week.
