The Spanish Legion, ready for Iraq

The new contingent that the Spanish Legion will send to Iraq, has exceeded the integration and final evaluation exercise called "Alfaylaq", carried out in between the 25th of September and the 4th of October at the base "Álvarez de Sotomayor" and the Maneuvers and Shooting Field (Campo de Maniobras y Tiro in Spanish), in Viator (Almería), culminating, in that way, its previous preparation before its deploy in November.

350 soldiers in total, the majority of them legionnaires, form the 7th rotation of the Spanish Army in the so-called mission "Inherent Resolve", consisting on training the Iraqui Forces in order to improve their instruction towards the jihadist threat inside their own territory.

During the exercise, the units forming the contingent have been evaluated to verify their training degree, becoming a last effort consisting on improving the tactics, techniques and procedures' final details that will be developed in the operations' area.
