Spanish Green Berets in the annual most important exercise of the Special Forces from France

An Operative and a Basic Team of Snipers from the Special Operations' Command have participated in "Gorgones 17", an annual and a very important exercise of the
Special French Land Forces, that has been conducted in Nimés-Uzés, from the 2nd to the 20th of October.

The Spanish teams were instructed in the different instalations of the base "Camp des Garrigues", performing combat and precision shooting in collaboration with the French and North American soldiers -invited to the exercise too -, and they also practiced the French procedures of inserction and extraction with helicopters, and the movility procedures, with the VAMTAC of the Spanish Army.

During the phase of carrying out the topics, the Spanish teams were integrated with the 1st Regiment of Paratroopers from the French Navy's Infantry, developing two missions: the first one consisted on the inmediate rescue of hostages and the second one on the detention of terrorist personnel, both of them with the collaboration of French helicopters.
