The chief of the Army Staff attends tribute to the Armed Forces at U.S. Embassy

The upcoming publication of the book 'George Washington y el legado del Ejército Español en los EE.UU' ('George Washington and the legacy of the Spanish Army in the U.S'.) was announced.

On 11th February, the U.S. Embassy hosted in Madrid a tribute in which the Spanish and American delegations celebrated the deep ties between the Armed Forces of both countries.

During the ceremony, the 2019 project of the association 'The Legacy' was announced: the publication of the book 'George Washington y España. El Legado del Ejército Español en los EE.UU'. The Chief of Staff of the Army, Army General Francisco J. Varela Salas, attended this meeting organised by the U.S. Ambassador, Duke Buchan III, and the association 'The Legacy'. Its president, Eva García, thanked the Chief of the Army Staff for his effort and leadership, as well as reminding of the fact that the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Martín Bernardi has provided vital impetus to this publication.

The ceremony was also attended by the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Alejandre Martínez, the Chief of the Air Force Staff, General Salto Martínez-Avial and the Chief of the Navy Staff, Admiral López Calderón, among other authorities.
