From the 25th until the 29th of November, the ‘Diego Porcelos’ barracks, seat of the Headquarters of the ‘San Marcial’ Division, hosted the seventh edition of the ‘Chameleon’ exercise, dedicated to the Document and Media Exploitation intelligence capacity.

Almost all of the units from the Army were represented in the exercise. Also represented were the Canary Island Command, the High Readiness Land Headquarters, the Infantry Brigade from the Navy, the Royal Guard, the Special Operations Combined Command, the Armed Forces Information Services, the Civil Guard and the National Police Force.

Also worth noting is the international participation through the Management Committee of the Joint Deployable Exploitation and Analysis Laboratory, with representatives from the twelve countries which comprise it, including Spain. The Committee planned its annual meeting to coincide with the exercise in order to see the work done by the experts in obtaining and exploiting evidence.

Whilst planning, they kept in mind the new techniques used by an asymmetrical enemy in different scenarios, such as the use of drones. Furthermore, they were able to work with real documents, provided by the National Police.

The chief of the ‘San Marcial’ Division, General Ruiz Olmos, participated in the exercise’s closing ceremony and awarded certificates confirming participation to those who took part in this, the seventh edition.
