Introduction

Introduction and Welcome

On behalf of Lieutenant General Fernando Aznar Ladrón de Guevara, General Inspector of the Army, we wish to warmly welcome you to the General Army Inspection Headquarters web page, through which we hope to tell you about our mission and our organisation that is at the heart of the Army, as well as our activities and civilian-military events in Catalonia.

The General Army Inspection is one of the First Level Commands (Lieutenant General level) within the Force Support and whose principal missions are the leadership, management, administration, coordination and control of the Army facilities across Spain, in the fields of infrastructure (construction, works, maintenance, property management etc.) and the life and service of the units (resources, services, base security, environmental protection, prevention of risks in the workplace, etc).

The Headquarters of the General Army Inspection is situated in a symbolic building in Barcelona known as the "Palacio de Capitanía General" and we have an outline of its history and a virtual tour on this page.

The Lieutenant General Army Inspector is also an Institutional Representative for the Armed Forces in the Autonomous Communities of Catalonia, Aragon, Navarra and La Rioja. On his behalf, we extend you a warm welcome and hope that the information available on this page helps  to better understand this section of the Spanish Army, and also promote the regular activities we organise for civilians.
