Welcome to the HQ NRDC-ESP website, one of the Alliance’s Rapid Deployable Corps Headquarters and the only one high profile NATO organization based in Spain.

HQ NRDC-ESP is the international part of the Spanish High Readiness Land Military Staff HQ (CGTAD), and it represents the Spain’s commitment to NATO. With Spain as framework nation, there are currently nine contributing nations (France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Turkey, United States and Spain). The multinational environment provided by its almost four hundred military personnel from the different nations is the key factor that enables this Headquarters to conduct successfully all the assigned missions as tasks.

Chief of Staff of the Spanish Army chairs the handover takeover deputy Commander ceremony at the NRDC-ESP in Bétera

On 15 January 2018, the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps-Spain hosted a hand over – take over ceremony to mark the change of its Deputy Commander from General Rui Guerra Pereira to General Nelson Viegas, both from the Portuguese Army. The ceremony was held at the Betera military base (Valencia-Spain) and was chaired by the Chief of Staff of the Spanish Army General Varela Salas.

The Chief of Staff of the Portuguese Army visits the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Spain Headquarters.

During the 14th and 15th of January, General Rovisco Duarte, Chief of Staff Portuguese Army, visited the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Spain (NRDC-ESP) HQ in Betera (Valencia), where Portuguese military personnel work along with allied personnel from eight different nations.
