Military Music corp

The members of the Military Music Corp, grouped into the Upper Officers and the Non-Commissioned Officers Scales, have as their mission providing the services of music in the scope of the Armed Forces, as well as the preparation and conducting of Military Bands.

In carrying out their missions, they many exercise the function of command in centres or organisms.  Also corresponding to them are the functions of administration and logistics, of command support, as well as technical-optional  and educational  functions related with these missions.

In the Upper Officers Scale there is only one fundamental speciality: Conducting. To be admitted to it, it is necessary to have an advanced degree in Music.

In the Non-Commissioned Officers Scale of the Military Music Corp there is only one fundamental speciality  —Instrumentalist—, in which the following instrumentalist specialities are integrated:  clarinet, double bass, flute, oboe, percussion, saxophone, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba and cello.  To be admitted, it is necessary to have an instrumentalist diploma.

The employments in the Military Music Corp range from lieutenant to colonel on the Upper Officer Scale and those from sergeant to command sergeant major on the Non-Commissioned Officers Scale.

The members of the Military Music Corp are designated by placing  the employment followed by the expression Musician before their name.
