Three members of the 1st Intelligence Regiment, based in Valencia, assisted a motorcycler who had been seriously injured in a traffic accident that occurred between a vehicle and a motorcycle on May 30th, on the Paseo de la Alameda in the Valencian capital.

The events occurred in the afternoon, when Second Lieutenant Manzanares, First Sergeant Torres and Lance Corporal Cava witnessed a heavy impact between a car and a motorcycle, whose driver was projected away from the accident area and lay on the ground, in conscious condition, with multiple serious injuries in various parts of the body.

Realizing the seriousness of the incident, the three members of the 1st Intelligence Regiment came to the aid of the motorcycler and one of them quickly prepared to assist the injured man, while another of the soldiers began organizing traffic to prevent further accidents and the third contacted the emergency services.

Taking advantage of the proximity of the San Juan de Ribera barracks, the soldiers took a plastic bag of ice to insert into it one of the toes of the left foot that had been amputated by the impact, in the hope that it could later be reimplanted to the victim.

When the emergency services arrived and took charge of the situation, Second Lieutenant Manzanares, First Sergeant Torres and Lance Corporal Cava left the area, not without first putting themselves at the disposal of the Local Police in case their declaration was necessary.
