Nothing was missed in the 55th Spanish Army Awards' Ceremony. An event celebrated the 16th of November, at the Army War College (Madrid), where a tribute to the cinema was paid as the main topic of the ceremony.
 
The Minister of Defense, María Dolores de Cospedal, assessed the awarded people in the different categories and pointed out the importance of the Army Awards as "a compulsary date for the Army's family, the largest one of the Armed Forces".

Special Distinction was received by the journalist Ángel Expósito, newsreader in Cadena Cope, who was awarded by the Chief of General Staff of the Spanish Army's hands (JEME in Spanish) and by the Minister of Defense with a special gratitude for his defense to the institution in his works and programmes, as well as and his constituents' values.

The most emotional moments were par of these act: they arrived by the hand of Claudia, primary's student of the school "Ágora", in Brunete (Madrid), whose words represented all the awarded people and, with just twelve years old, she vibrated the attended public in an emotional applause.
 

Film Awards

The event, was presented and chaired by the journalist Alejandra Navas and it has as main topic the cinema itself and fiction TV-shows. For that reason, many celebrities belonging to this world stepped the at awards' stage. Among them, Maria Barranco, Goyo González, Jorge Sanz, Emma Ozores or Antonio Resines were some of the attending celebrities of this event.

Furthermore, there was a review of the different films in which the Army has been involved along the years. From "Agustina de Aragón", going through "Los Nuestros" to "Zona Hostil", the last production presented this year. In fact, the producer of this film, Javier López, as well as some actors and actresses such as Raúl Mérida and Ruth Gabriel did not miss the oportunity of attending this event. "I feel like I'm part of this family which is the Spanish Army", said Raúl Mérida in his declaration to the newspaper "Tierra" after the awards ceremony.

New Awards' Fanfare

The prize-giving ceremony was entertained by the Music Unit of the 1st Infantry Regiment "Inmemorial del Rey", who presented the new Army Awards' fanfare, composed by the Lieutenant Colonel Juan Bautista Meseguer. He was the one who gave the new music score to the JEME.

Excitement was not missed, either the approaching to the Army and its work, with the participation of a team of Special Operations that remembered a rescue operation in the imaginary island "Isla Turquesa". A stage with an atmosphere that, without any doubt, helped to become this edition a real awards ceremony.
