The Chief of Staff of the Army (JEME in Spanish), army general Amador Enseñat y Berea, attended the annual meeting of European Chiefs of Staff of the Army of the FINABEL doctrinal Forum. On this occasion, it was held on April 4th in Latvia, where issues of interest for the armies in the field of new capabilities, trends, lessons learned, etc. were analyzed and discussed.

It is an organization which promotes cooperation and interoperability between the land forces of a good number of member countries of the European Union. The representation of the Army corresponds to the Research, Organic and Materials Department, framed in the Training and Doctrine Command.

During the cycle of meetings, the JEME explained to his participant counterparts and to the representatives of all the present armies, that next November Spain will host the 9th Forum of European Chiefs of Staff of the Army, the most important annual meeting at that level. It coincides with the Spanish presidency of the Council of the European Union during the second half of 2023, so it is an opportunity for our country. Likewise, it underlines the willingness to be present on the international military stage and it will provide even more visibility to the Spanish army, whose participation in operations and response to all kinds of needs during the last decades placed it among the most appreciated by the allies.
