Lieutenant General Ramírez, commander of Eurocorps, presented a new approach for the missions of this military corps on 4 February before the European Parliament.

The Spanish lieutenant general stressed that the Multinational Headquarters he commands is prepared to be designated NATO Response Force Command in 2020 by virtue of the experience accumulated in its missions on behalf of the Alliance and as a military instrument in support of European security and defence.

After an intense series of exercises, which will culminate with the 2016 European Endeavour in mid-June, Eurocorps will be certified as Force Headquarters of the European Battle Groups, thereupon remaining on standby for the next two semesters.

For its part, German General Franz Pfrengle, Eurocorps Chief of Staff, told European MPs about his experience as head of the EU training mission in Mali (EUTM-Mali), which took place over the second semester of 2015 with the participation of 52 Eurocorps soldiers.
