On the 17th of June, the 149 soldiers who make up the X contingent which will soon be deployed to Adana (Turkey) said goodbye after finishing their training, with a military parade in the ‘Tentegorra’ barracks in Cartagena, Murcia.

This ceremony, which was presided over by General Íñigo Pareja, chief of the Anti-aircraft Artillery Command, brought an end to the preparations for deployment, which is planned for July.

The 73rd Anti-aircraft Artillery Regiment, as source unit of the X contingent of NATO’s Turkey Support Mission, will be in the zone of operations, operating the Patriot battery which will be deployed in the vicinity of Adana to defend Turkish territory against the threat of ballistic missiles coming from Syria.

The training brought with it weeks of hard work, in which they were shown the different tactical situations which may develop during the mission. The final evaluation proved the training of all the staff who make up the contingent and their ability to serve 24 hours a day during the mission, which will last for six months.
