HQ NRDC-ESP

NATO ratified that HQ NRDC-ESP passed the evaluation carried out during phase 1 of exercise TRJE15. HQ NRDC-ESP achieved an excellent grade in all evaluated areas. This evaluation empowers HQ NRDC-ESP to lead NATO land forces of the enhaced NRF 2016. This force is part of the adaptation measures implemented by NATO as part of the Responsed Allied Plan approved by the Head of States in a NATO Summit that took place in Wales in September 2014.

 

US General John Nicholson –Land Component Command in Izmir (Turkey)- as Chief of the Evaluation Team, Czech Republic Stephan Kaleta as SHAPE representative and Lietenant General Comas, NRDC-ESP Commander, chaired at the table.

 

The evaluation phase took place from the 3rd to the 16th of October to certify the component commands of the enhanced NRF 16. 

 

 

 

 

The second phase of exercise Trident Juncture, also known as LIVEX, will take place from 21st Octubre to 6th of November. HQ NRDC-ESP will lead around 20000 soldiers from 4 multinational brigades led by UK, Canada, Italiy and Spain. Tactical training exercises will be run in accordance with a detailed serialized field training program that will end with a joint combined operation in which land, maritime and air forces will participate.
