The king of Spain, Felipe the 6th, has chaired today (escorted by the Minister of Defense of Spain, María Dolores de Cospedal, and the Chief of Staff of the Spanish Army;  Army General, Jaime Domínguez Buj) the military parade celebrated on the occcasion of the 75th anniversary of the ''third epoch'' of the Military General Academy (AGM, in Spanish), in Zaragoza.

After receiving the Honors and inspecting the troops' Force (made up of 3 student's battalions), the King went back to his place to continue chairing the event in which several decorations and prizes were given.

Among those honors: the cadets that have studied their last semester in the West Point Academy as part of the exchange program of students between the Spanish Academy AGM and other military academies, or the prize “Lieutenant Cabrelles”, to pay tribute to the first member of the AGM who passed away in combat.

This looks to boost the team work spirit, the training, and the physical resistance.

The Director and Manager of the Spanish Academy, General Lanchares, outlined in his speech that the Academy AGM is «the image and a heir of a long training of Officers and the clear result of the strong commitment of the Spanish Army which makes sure to count on the most complete, rigurous, and demanding preparation.» He added that the training on values is one of the Spanish Academy hallmarks along with the search for excellence and superior quality.

During the act, a review of the 1st year of the '3rd epoch' represented by Lieutenant General Gautier, in his 75th anniversary of the swearing allegiance to the Flag of Spain took also place.

It was a triple anniversary because of the 135 anniversary of the creation of the Academy AGM and the 90 anniversary of its '2nd epoch.' The triple anniversary ended with a parade of the students by foot, and also with vehicles of the 1st “Aragón” Brigade. The cadets were integrated within several tactical positions to show the non-stop support the units give to the training of future officers.
