The Council of Chiefs of General Staff gathering together at the Military Headquarters

Today Buenavista Palace, Spanish Army's Military Headquarters, has been the scene of a new meeting of the Council of Chiefs of Staff, consultive governing body established in 2009 with the aim of reinforce collective actions and also the coordination inside of the Spanish Armed Forces.

The meeting has been chaired by The Chief of  Staff of Defense, Army General  Fernando Alejandre.
This encounter was attended by The Army Chief of Staff, Francisco Javier Varela; by The Chief of General Staff of the Spanish Navy , Admiral Teodoro Esteban López, and also, by The Chief of  Staff of the Spanish Air Force,  General Javier Salto.
The Council of Chiefs of Staff gathers once per month in order to supervise and to evaluate  Joint Force units training, as well as their availability.
It is able to establish the rules for the joint action and for the description of the military strategies, the development of the operations and coordination of the matters related to the military staff's system when dealing with international operations and organizations in the Armed Forces setting, and for the coordination of meausures  that searches for the maximum operative efficiency too.
