The components of "Extremadura" Group take testimony from the 9th Spanish Battalion Task Force "Córdoba" and are going to remain in Kosovo for a period of six months that will last until March 2004.

During said period, our soldiers will be converted into guarantors of the peace process initiated by NATO in June 1999, with the deployment of the International Security Force for Kosovo (KFOR).

The Commander of "Extremadura" group, Colonel Luis Martín Aragonés, declared in his speech that he felt enormous satisfaction due to the level of preparation reached, which would undoubtedly facilitate the accomplishment of the assigned missions in Kosovo.

"We have at our disposal the best tools: our human condition, willingness, professionalism and spirit, but above all, our sense of responsibility and strength".

The bulk of the 643 men and women who compose the 10th Spanish Battalion Task Force "Extremadura" come from the 11th Mechanized Infantry Brigade "Extremadura", a unit with broad experience in peacekeeping missions in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
