KSPAGT XIII

Task Force “CÓRDOBA” began its mission in Kosovo on 1st September, the date of the Transfer of Authority (TOA) with its predecessor.

It is made up with core troops from the 10th Mechanized Infantry Brigade “GUZMÁN EL BUENO”, based in Córdoba. Its 522 members are at the command of Colonel Casimiro Sanjuán Martínez and the bulk come from this Brigade, which contributes 411 servicepeople from the 10th “Córdoba” and the 2nd “La Reina” Regiments, from the Artillery Group, the Sappers Unit, the Logistic Group, Headquarters and the Brigade Headquarters Battalion.

In addition, the Task Force integrates a squadron from the 12th Light Armoured Cavalry Regiment “FARNESIO” (Valladolid) and a Platoon from the Royal Guard.

Task Force “CÓRDOBA”, whose presence in Kosovo is foreseen to last six months, will act within the framework of the Multinational Brigade Southwest (BMN SW) based in Prizren.

The mission of Task Force KSPAGT XIV in its approximately 470 km2 area of responsibility, under the auspices of UN Resolution 1244, is:

  • Contributing to the general process of peace consolidation and stability in Kosovo.
  • Guaranteeing the freedom of movement.
  • Maintaining a secure environment for ethnic minority groups.

Providing protection at national heritage points of interest.Maintaining control of the administrative borders with Serbia and Montenegro.
