The NH90 TTH Spanish tactical transport helicopter carried out its first flight at Eurocopter installations, the group with French, German and Spanish stakes that is part of the NHIndustries consortium which manages the project.  The first two units of the NH90 TTH have been built in Marignane (France), while the remainder of the order, another 43 helicopters, will be manufactured in Albacete, since this is where a final assemble line has been installed.  From spring 2011 in-flight trials until its full qualification by the Spanish Ministry of Defence will be undertaken in Albacete.

In 2011 the in-flight trials will be undertaken in Albacete

Once the helicopter has been certified it will be delivered to the Armed Forces, foreseeably in 2012. This helicopter model weighs 11 tonnes and has been designed to operate on tactical search and rescue, personnel recuperation and casualty evacuation missions, with daytime and night-time operation capability in all types of environments.  It is a medium sized twin engine aircraft that is characterised by highly integrated systems, fitted around a dual-bus core avionics system, a liquid crystal display cockpit with multi-function screens, electronic controls and 4 axis automatic flight control.
