A Corporal Dies in a Traffic Accident on the A-92 Road

This morning Corporal J.A.F.L. has died in a traffic accident at km 71 on the A-92 road, travelling in the direction of Seville (Osuna municipal district). Also injured in the same accident has been Private A.F.G..

The corporal, 37, a native of Málaga, joined the Army in 1994, belonged to the Fundamental Speciality of Light Infantry, and was posted to the 11th / 21 Transport Group (Granada). He had the status of permanent corporal and had participated in two missions in Lebanon in 2006 and 2009. He held two United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon medals and a Bronze Cross for Long Service and Good Conduct.

The injured soldier, 30, a native of Ciudad Real and posted to the same unit, has been transferred to the hospital in Osuna, where he continues to be admitted. A medical report is awaited, although his life is not in danger.

The truck, a Special Multipurpose Supply and Recuperation Vehicle driven by the corporal, had gone off the road due to unknown reasons. It was part of a scheduled transport of materiel between the detachment in Sierra Elvira (Granada) and the 21st Logistic Support Group (Seville).
