Wednesday, November 21, 2012

Number: 1994

Army Anti-aircraft Artillery Command Posts must be capable of integrating national or multinational air defence structures, and to guarantee their preparation in this respect they are participating from 19th to 22nd November in the third undertaking this year of exercise ‘Dart’.

To carry out these activities the Anti-aircraft Artillery Command Post has been activated on Base ‘Capitán Guiloche’ in Fuencarral, Madrid, and is in charge of conducting the operations in which the 72nd, 73rd, 81st and 94th Anti-aircraft Artillery Regiments are intervening (the latter within the Canary Island Command), with all of which a link is maintained through permanent communications.

Also participating, as exercise director, is the Anti-aircraft Artillery Liaison Detachment, permanently situated at the Air Force Command and Control Centre, on the Air Base in Zaragoza.

The aim is implementing and refining operation planning and conducting procedures, as well as providing instruction in integration in Air Defence Systems for operations in Spain or in the NATO Integrated Air Defence System.

The ‘Dart’ exercises are a series of Command Post exercises directed by the Anti-aircraft Artillery Command Post from Madrid, in which the Anti-aircraft Artillery unit Command Posts’ information, operations, personnel and logistic centres are trained in planning and conducting activities.
