The Association of Military, Naval and Air Attachés, which brings together all the foreign attachés accredited to Spain, paid a visit on 13 May to the base “Álvarez de Sotomayor” at Viator (Almería), headquarters of the Light Infantry Brigade “Rey Alfonso XIII”, 2nd of the Legion (BRILEG). The attachés were accompanied by personnel from the Centre of International Relations of the Chiefs of the Army Staff.

A total of 17 attachés led by Mexican General Carlos Corral were welcomed by the Chief of BRILEG, General Juan J. Martín Cabrero. After attending a conference about the history, organization and capabilities of the unit, the foreign officers visited the Brigade’s Museum. They then attended two operational displays by the 7th Brigade of the "Tercio D. Juan de Austria”, 3rd of the Legion, which were held in the urban warfare and instinctive shooting areas of the exercise field.

The attachés, who were able to see for themselves the readiness and preparedness of BRILEG, were very pleased with their visit.
