Learning about NBC defence from the experts

The 32 students taking the 6th Technology Risks Course aim at learning what to do in the event of an NBC incident. As part of their training, in May they carried out exercises at the “Daoíz y Velarde” base at Paterna (Valencia) with personnel from the 1st NBC Regiment “Valencia”.

The participants learnt about the most specialised unit in NBC defence of the Army, its capabilities and procedures, and practised decontamination techniques at a personnel decontamination station. They also carried out reconnaissance operations using the equipment the 1st NBC Regiment “Valencia” is equipped with.

The course is organised by the NBC Defence School. On this occasion, the staff of assistants was made up of personnel from the Civil Guard allocated to the Presidency of the Government, the National Police Force, the Military Emergencies Unit, the Military Health School, the Medical Brigade and the Emergency Medical Service of Madrid (112).
