The Redeployment Cell for Afghanistan finishes its work

Tuesday, December 22, 2015

Number: 4785

The process of receiving the last vehicles and other materiel used in Afghanistan and redistributing it to the appropriate units is coming to an end. It has been managed and coordinated by the Redeployment Cell set up by the Operational Logistic Force in October.

Since then, the Cell has been charged with activating the two Transit Bases – one at the garrison “Primo de Rivera” in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) and the other at the garrison “Daoíz y Velarde” in Paterna (Valencia) – where the materiel first arrived by air o sea from Afghanistan.

All in all, 104 containers and 78 vehicles have been repatriated over a period of three months.

The composition of the Redeployment Cell has evolved to adapt to the tasks at hand. Its members came from the Operational Logistic Force, its HQ and the Logistic Brigade.
