Members of the Special Operations Command participated in the 13th Castile and León Spanish Accident and Emergency Medicine Conference, which took place in Ponferrada (León), on 20 and 21 April.

The military delegation was made up of four combat paramedics from different operational units in the Special Operations Command (first sergeants Gil and Longarte, both from the Special Operations Unit, corporal Beltrán from the 4th Special Operations Group and corporal Lasa from the 19th group).

At the conference, they participated in two lectures, a workshop about hemorrhage control in a tactical environment and using  battlefield health equipment, and the simulation of a terrorist attack with multiple victims.

In this exercise, the members of the Special Operations Command, together with members of the Civil Guard Rapid Response Force, settled the situation, neutralised the terrorists, treated the injured and sent them to the health staff, who also assisted during the exercise.

There was also a presentation by the SEMES Group (Spanish Accident and Emergency Medicine Group) "Tactical Health Service," of which First sergeant Gil is a member.
