The territories occupied by the Artillery units along Gran Canaria's coasts for its defense influenced the urbanism and development of the island, as the members of the 94th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment checked in a route established through the settlements and traces of the old coast batteries, the 18th of April.

The visit to the different territories was prepared as a tactical march of the unit. It started with an ascent to Vigía Mountain, in La Isleta, 216 metres high. Here, until 1993, it existed a Coast Battery.

Afterwards, the group moved to tSan Juan Neighbourhood's mountain where, until the end of the 50s, two Batteries were located (San Juan Battery and Las Mesas de San Juan Battery).

The march ended with Ariaga's Battery ascent, located next to Pueblo de Arinaga, remaining in service until 1971.

This historical and cultural review was more intense thanks to the presence of the official chronicler of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and of Gran Canaria, and Honorary Artillery Man of the Regiment, José Laforet, who joined the march and enriched with comments and exhibitions the visit.
