The Canary Island Brigade Completes its Medical Training

Friday, January 27, 2012

Number: 1380

A group of 70 members of 16th Light Infantry Brigade ‘Canarias’ will attend, from 30th January to 3rd February, the level 1 Army medical training course, in which they  will learn resuscitation techniques, wound care and transport of the injured.

Once they finish the course, all personnel in this unit –over 3,500 servicepersons- will have basic level preparation in the area of medical care, which has been promoted since 2009 through the organisation of several similar courses, which include both theoretical and practical parts.

On this occasion, the last two were offered on Base ‘Alemán Ramírez’, where 50th Light Infantry Regiment ‘Canarias’ is located: and on "General Alemán Ramírez", for Headquarters, 16th Logistic Group and 15th Sapper Battalion personnel.

This training gives the members of the Canary Island Brigade the preparation needed to care for its own personnel initially, if there is an accident or attack.
