Members of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force 2017 carried out a capabilities demonstration on 14 June, in front of civil and military leaders at the Cincu maneuvre field (Romania). Staff from the land and air forces from various countries of the Alliance, including Spain, participated in the display, which focused on tactical issues and used real ammunition.

The display, which concluded the 2nd Noble Jump exercise, came before a demonstration of British, Norweigan, Romanian and Polish materials, as well as Spanish. The Spanish materials were the contribution of the “Colón” battle group, set up at the 13th “Colón” Brigade of the “Don Juan de Austria” corps, the 3rd in the Legion.

Among the leaders in attendance was the Spanish ambassador to Romania, Ramiro Fernández Bachiller, the Chief of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps, Spain, lieutenant general Gan Pampols, and the chief of the Legion Brigade, general Martín Cabrero.

The “Noble Jump” exercise aimed to demonstrate the capability of the VJTF Brigade, led by the United Kingdom, to deploy a nucleus of rapid response in a NATO member country (in this case, Romania) in a short period of time.
